How to use Maxam Metal Products RFQ Builder.

There is a lot of flexibility in quote delivery. There are three (3) basic steps:

Browsing and searching for Products
Adding items to the RFQ Builder
Submission and delivery method

Browse and search for products

Maxam Metal Products Ltd. products are broken into basic product categories such as "Access Doors" and "Roof Hatches" and are listed on a top level category (white bar at the top). When you click on one of the product categories (i.e. Non Fire-Rated Access Doors), a complete list of products is displayed. You can either click on the brief product description or product model number both outlined in blue text to take you to a detailed product page. The easiest way though to find a product on Maxam Metal Products is to search:

If you have our printed catalogue, you will note that every product has a model number. To search using the model number, enter the model number in the field next to Search Product Line at the top of each page. You can search using this model number and even use this model number to "Quick Add" an item to your request builder when building a Request For Quote (RFQ). When searching by using the model number, you will be guided to a photo of the product and will have to click on the product description or model number (highlighted in blue) to proceed to a detailed product page. From the product page, you can build your RFQ (see Adding Items to your RFQ builder).

If you don't have the printed catalogue, enter text in the field next to Search Product Line at the top of each page by entering keywords. e.g "concealed flange". When searching you do not need to insert the word "and" to link words. The search results will display a list of products by relevance to your query - e.g. products with both the words "concealed" and "flange" in any of their name or description will be listed first. Then any items with either the word concealed or flange will be listed next. You can then choose from the list of products by clicking on the product description (highlighted in blue), which will take you to a detailed product page. Adding items to your RFQ Builder

Start to build your RFQ by selecting from the different options listed under the heading Available Options on the detailed product page. These options will include size, locks, latches, etc. If you want to select a specific latch, you would click on the field next to the Latch heading which would list the different latches, and then click on the desired latch. Go through all of the options and make your selection. If you don't want an option, leave the (Select if required) text as is.

Once you have made all of your selections from the different options, click on the "Go" button. When you click on the "Go" button, you will be guided to the quote builder screen that shows you the contents of your RFQ. You'll see a detailed description of the product that you have just selected. Make sure that you have chosen all of your options. Where you have not made an option selection, irrelevant text such as 'Select if required' will be displayed.

To add another product, click on Back to Main and start the process over. Each time you add a new product, the screen will display a complete list of products you wish to order. Your abbreviated RFQ (on the right of your screen) lists the products by model number displaying what you have currently selected.

The quote builder screen allows you to: 1) delete products by clicking on the Delete box to the left of the model number or by clicking on the text Remove All located at the bottom of the screen, 3) change quantities by inserting the revised number in the quantity box, 4) identify which shipping address you want to use by clicking on Submit RFQ which takes you to the address information, and 5) review all products you are considering ordering.

To view a complete history of all your RFQs, click on the text Submitted RFQ's.

RFQ submission

After placing items in your RFQ Builder, you can submit it by clicking on Submit RFQ. This will lead you to a Delivery Address screen. Complete all the information. Click on Continue and then click on the text Process RFQ. A description of the products for which you have requested a quote will be e-mailed to your e-mail account.
